When I read a story, I look for love, for growth, for hope, for progression and strong dialogue, for mystery and intrigue and heart pounding moments.
I do not look for quick fixes. I do not look for a quick fuck. I do not look for everything to be hunky dory in the very next second. If I looked for those things, I would be the "Trash Man" monster Moning makes us so terrified over.
And now, looking back at those two and three star readers who were so upset about the "progression," I have to wonder if we were reading the same fecking book. There was so much progression in this book, I'm still processing it. It's the middle moment in a KMM book, and she's telling you what she always tells you, "Have some faith."
Good god! I love it. Faith. That's what this book is about. Believing in the good. Resurrections and life and sacrifice... That's what KMM does best, and Jesus, she doesn't disappoint here.
But if all you like is a quick fuck, then yes, you'd probably hate this book with a passion. Go read one of those "quickies" that are so popular, and stop polluting our quality stream of books.
